Virginia Duals Kids National Championship

The Virginia Duals Wrestling Club and the Peninsula Wrestling Association are launching the Virginia Duals Kids National Championships to be held Sunday, January 15 at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va.

The event will take place on the very same mats where the Virginia Duals wrap up the day before.

This folkstyle wrestling tournament is USA Wrestling-sanctioned, meaning all participants must have USA Wrestling cards (to purchase, go to www.usawmembership.com). Cards WILL NOT be sold at the tournament.

Scholarship Fund to be developed in Bill Smith’s name

Bill’s family is in the process of creating a scholarship fund in Bill’s name.  As this formation finalizes, I pass the information on to everyone for donations in Bill’s honor.

Also, Bill’s family was deeply moved by all the stories over the last few days of how Bill touched so many peoples’lives.  In the coming weeks, the family will continue to monitor his e-mail and route the e-mails from the many organizations and activities Bill had been a part of to the right individuals.  As they monitor his account, I ask that if you have any great stories of moments you shared with Bill, to please e-mail the to his account at billsmith99@verizon.net.

Please help me to fill his inbox and continue to share with them what made Bill so special to so many of us.

Past PWA President Bill Smith passes away

On early Tuesday morning, the Peninsula wrestling family lost long-time supporter and great friend Mr. William “Bill” Smith.  Bill’s passion for wrestling and significant contributions to PWA & peninsula wrestling provided innumerable contributions to generations of student athletes.

Over the years Bill also become a great mentor and guide to individuals like myself and his advice, wisdom, and personal friendship will be deeply missed.

Bill also served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud and active USMC veteran.  Thoughout his life, Bill maintained a strong commitment and love of our country.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Sally and entire Smith family.

As funeral arrangements are finalized, we will pass them along.

Practices begin Tuesday, 6 Sep 11.
(Folk Style)
Registrations On-Site

When: Tuesday/Thursday
Time: 6:30-8:30pm
Location: VA Duals wrestling room, behind Poquoson Middle school.
Season: 6 Sep 11 – 30 Oct 11

Cost: Fall Session – $50.00;
Spring Session – $100.00 (Both Sessions – $135.00) not including the cost of the USA card.

(Parent discount available for more than 1 wrestler.)

Must have current USA Card. USA Card cost is $30.00 and is available through the Virginia Duals Wrestling Club Team Leader
